San Benedicto Island is a small island in the Socorro Islands Archipelago of around 10 sq kilometers. Is has two prominent peaks, one of them a is volcanic crater that appeared after an eruption in 1953. Since then it has been inactive. This area is accessed by boat from Cabo San Lucas and Baja California Sur and although it is a small diving area you will want to repeat it a thousand times.

The most popular spot is known as «La Caldera», a pinnacle that emerges from the abyss of the Pacific Ocean and rises above the ocean surface. In this small space you can find very gentle manta rays, hammerhead sharks, silky sharks, Galapagos sharks, tiger sharks, dolphins, humpback whales and occasionally whale sharks.
